Machinery Day with Blacksmithing Demonstration
Monroe Park, May 19, 2013

Volunteers set up a 1920s 5 horse power
Thermoil kerosene powered one-stroke engine and small grist mill.
Our visitors were able to grind corn into corn meal.

An engine like this could have run a water pump or other machinery at a local mine.
Below, local blacksmith, Scott Loughner, set up his forge and demonstrated
age old blacksmithing techniques to the amazed crowd.
