The 16th annual Goldvein Jubilee

On a beautiful September afternoon, over 400 of our neighbors stopped by the 16th Annual Goldvein Jubilee. While there, they got to dig for fossils, pan for gold, bid on a silent auction item, listen to some amazing performers, try a homemade corn dog or BBQ, jump on the moon bounce, take a ride on a pony or in a carriage, look at some Native American or early American artifacts, or play in the corn box.

The department would like to thank the members of the Friends of Monroe Park for all their time and effort in making the Jubilee a continuing success!! A special Thank You to the members of the Cub Scout Troop 1187, Girl Scout Troops 2757 and 3791, Jimmie Eustace, the Northern Virginia Gold Prospectors, the Southern Fauquier Historical Society, VFW Post 7728 Morrisville, the Goldvein and Lois Volunteer Fire Departments, and all our other volunteers for making this year’s Jubilee a great event. We also would like to especially thank Remington Steel (Bryan Jacobs, Wilbur Willingham and Mike O’Connor) and Frankie and Rebekah Campbell for providing a great afternoon of music.

We would also like to recognize all the local businesses and individuals who donated items for the silent auction and game prizes:
